Young and Son is a father and son owned contracting firm based in Portland, OR with a great passion for older homes and classic millwork. Third and fourth generation carpenters, you could safely say that it’s in our blood. We love what we do and you’ll experience that passion at every stage in the process.
The majority of our work comes to us through customer referrals, which means for over 10 years we have built our business on a long history of happy customers, who continue to turn to us time and again when it comes to improving their home.

- Remodel. We believe that it is better to improve and renew the existing than to destroy rural lands to build new.
- Waste. The majority of it can and does get source-separated and recycled.
- Salvage. Some materials that come out of a project can be reused on site or donated.
- Wood. Thankfully, today’s forests are managed much better and lest we forget, trees are a renewable resource.
- Local. We strive to use small, locally owned suppliers and subcontractors. We believe that a strong local economy is key to improving neighborhoods and building community.
